Luke Chapter 533 And they said to him, āThe disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink.ā34 And Jesus said to them, āCan you make wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?35 The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.ā36 He also told them a parable: āNo one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.39 And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, āThe old is good.ā ā Luke Chapter 957 As they were going along the road, someone said to him, āI will follow you wherever you go.ā58 And Jesus said to him, āFoxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.ā59 To another he said, āFollow me.ā But he said, āLord, let me first go and bury my father.ā60 And Jesus said to him, āLeave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.ā61 Yet another said, āI will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.ā62 Jesus said to him, āNo one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.ā Mark Chapter 218 Now Johnās disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. And people came and said to him, āWhy do Johnās disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?ā19 And Jesus said to them, āCan the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.20 The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the patch tears away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear is made.22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skinsāand the wine is destroyed, and so are the skins. But new wine is for fresh wineskins.ā Matthew Chapter 819 And a scribe came up and said to him, āTeacher, I will follow you wherever you go.ā20 And Jesus said to him, āFoxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.ā21 Another of the disciples said to him, āLord, let me first go and bury my father.ā22 And Jesus said to him, āFollow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.ā Matthew Chapter 914 Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, āWhy do we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?ā15 And Jesus said to them, āCan the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch tears away from the garment, and a worse tear is made.17 Neither is new wine put into old wineskins. If it is, the skins burst and the wine is spilled and the skins are destroyed. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.ā |
